Reviewed by a person

Contract questions and complex cases.

Payer contract terms, rates, ownership changes, appeals and reactivations do not fit a standard workflow. The fit check routes them to a person, who tells you whether the service can help before anything is agreed.

Unknown combinations are never accepted automatically. If a provider type, state, payer or request is outside the configured service, the answer is "needs review", not "yes".

Know the terms

Credentialing, enrollment, contracting and effective dates.

These are separate steps, decided by different people. Your workspace shows which one each update is about.

  • Credentialing

A payer or organization verifies the provider's education, training, licenses, certifications held and professional history. A provider can be credentialed and still not be able to bill yet.

Decided by the payer or credentialing organization
  • Enrollment

The provider is registered with the payer under the right practice, tax ID and location so claims can be submitted and routed correctly.

    Decided by the payer
  • Contracting

The agreement between your practice and the payer that sets participation terms and rates. Contract questions are reviewed by a person and are not part of a standard scope.

Agreed between your practice and the payer
  • Effective date

The date the payer confirms participation begins. It is set by the payer, and no application can promise it.

    Set by the payer

Clear limits

What the service will not do.

Knowing the limits up front is part of a clear scope.

  • Sign, attest or make decisions on behalf of a provider or practice
  • Promise approval, participation, an effective date or payment of claims
  • Accept work the service has not confirmed it can support
  • Pass your case to another company without telling you
  • Use any system or account you have not approved
